Cocktail Ingredients

For Smoke Infusion

Method

Cocktail Preparation

1

Prepare the Smoke

Begin by preparing your smoke infusion. Use a smoker or a smoke gun to infuse the hardwood chips with smoke. If using a smoker, ignite the hardwood chips until they start to smolder. If using a smoke gun, load the hardwood chips and turn it on to generate smoke.

2

Mix the Cocktail

In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Woodford Double Oaked Bourbon and 1 oz of Carpano Antica Vermouth. Add 2 dashes of barrel-aged bitters to the mixture.

3

Stir the Mixture

Add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.

4

Infuse with Smoke

Take a chilled cocktail glass and place it over the smoke source to infuse it with hardwood smoke. Let it sit for about 15 seconds to absorb the smoke flavor.

5

Strain the Cocktail

Remove the cocktail glass from the smoke and strain the bourbon and vermouth mixture into the smoked glass.

6

Garnish

Garnish the cocktail with a single cocktail cherry placed on a cocktail pick or directly in the glass.
