Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Onions

In a large pot, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.

2

Add Broth

Once the onions are caramelized, add the beef broth to the pot. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for an additional 15 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

3

Prepare the Bread

While the soup is simmering, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the brioche slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

4

Assemble the Soup

Ladle the hot soup into bowls. Place a slice of toasted brioche on top of each bowl of soup and sprinkle generously with Gruyère cheese.

5

Melt the Cheese

Place the bowls under the broiler for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

6

Garnish and Serve

Remove the bowls from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
