Method

Brewing Espresso

1

Prepare the Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew a single shot of espresso. Ensure the water temperature is around 90-95°C (194-203°F) for optimal extraction.

2

Pour the Espresso

Once brewed, pour the espresso shot into a pre-warmed coffee cup.

Steaming Milk

3

Heat the Milk

In a small saucepan or using a steam wand, heat the milk until it reaches about 65-70°C (149-158°F). If using a saucepan, stir continuously to avoid scalding.

4

Froth the Milk

If using a steam wand, froth the milk until it has a creamy texture with microfoam. If using a whisk or frother, vigorously whisk until frothy.

Combining Ingredients

5

Add Flavoring

If desired, add vanilla syrup and sugar to the brewed espresso and stir well to combine.

6

Combine Espresso and Milk

Slowly pour the frothed milk over the espresso. Hold back the foam with a spoon to allow the liquid milk to mix with the espresso first, then top with the foam.

7

Serve

Serve immediately, optionally topped with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish.
