Method
Prepare Glass
Choose a rocks or coupe glass. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass to moisten.
Dip the moistened rim into coarse kosher salt or flavored salt to coat. Set the glass aside.
Mix Cocktail
Measure and Combine
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Don Julio Reposado tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz orange liqueur, and your chosen 0.5 oz sweetener (simple syrup, agave nectar, or honey syrup). If you selected a flavor addition, add the measured amount (see Ingredients > Flavor). For 'Classic' choose no extra flavor.
Add Ice
Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice (approx. 1 cup).
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled.
Strain
If using fruit purées, double-strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice (or crushed ice if preferred) using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp. For clear juice or simple additions (like cucumber juice or blood orange), single strain is sufficient.
