Burger Patties
Prepare the Patty Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cooking the Patties
Add Cheese
Flip the patties and add a slice of white cheddar cheese to each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.
Making the Garlic Aioli
Mix Aioli Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt. Stir until well combined.
Chill
Cover and refrigerate the aioli until ready to use.

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
