Cocktail

1

Prepare glass and garnish

Choose a highball or Copa glass. Chill the glass briefly by filling it with ice and setting aside while you assemble the other ingredients (1–2 minutes). When ready, discard the small amount of water if any has collected from melting ice.

2

Fill with fresh ice

Fill the chilled glass with large, fresh ice cubes up to just below the rim. Large cubes melt slower and help maintain dilution control with the high strength gin.

3

Add gin

Measure and pour 2 oz Conniption Navy Strength Gin over the ice. Pour gently onto the ice to keep the temperature even.

4

Top with tonic

Slowly pour 4 oz Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water down the side of the glass or over the back of a spoon to preserve carbonation. Aim for a gentle pour so the tonic layers and retains effervescence.

5

Stir gently

Using a bar spoon, give the drink one or two slow, gentle turns (about 3–4 seconds) to integrate gin and tonic without losing too much fizz.

6

Express citrus and garnish

Hold the lemon peel over the drink with the outer (zest) side facing down and give it a sharp pinch to express the oils across the surface. Rub the peel around the glass rim if desired, then drop the twist into the drink. Finish by tucking a fresh rosemary sprig into the glass and give it one quick clap between your hands (optional) to release aromatics before placing it in the drink.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while cold and effervescent. Note: because this cocktail uses navy strength gin, sip slowly and adjust gin-to-tonic ratio to taste if you prefer a lighter drink.

Batching / Scaling

8

For multiple servings, multiply gin and tonic by the number of servings (2 oz gin + 4 oz tonic per serving). Mix gin into a pitcher filled with ice, then add tonic just before serving and stir gently. Garnish each glass individually with lemon twist and rosemary sprig to preserve aroma.
