Cocktail
Prepare glass
Chill a rocks glass by filling it with ice and water while you build the cocktail, or place it in the freezer for 5–10 minutes.
Measure and combine
In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, add 2 oz bonded whiskey, 0.5 oz mellow corn, 0.5 oz yuzu liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes Earl Grey bitters.
Add ice and stir/shake
If you want a clearer, silkier drink: fill the mixing glass with ice (about 1 cup), stir for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted. If you prefer a brighter, more aerated profile: add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds.
Prepare serving glass
Discard ice/water from the chilled rocks glass. Add one large ice cube or fresh ice to the glass.
Strain and finish
Double-strain (or fine strain if shaken) the cocktail from the mixing glass/shaker into the prepared rocks glass over the large ice cube.
Garnish & Aroma
For added aromatic drama, flame an orange peel briefly over the drink (optional) or top with a dehydrated lemon wheel.
Serve
Serve immediately. The bonded whiskey gives structure and depth, mellow corn adds sweet corn character, yuzu liqueur and lemon provide citrus lift, and the Earl Grey bitters add bergamot/tea bitterness to tie everything together.
