Method
Prepare the Beef Filling
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
Brown the Beef
Add 1 lb of ground beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes or until the beef is browned and cooked through.
Season the Beef
Stir in 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Remove from Heat
Once seasoned, remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
Assemble the Tacos
Warm the Tortillas
In a separate skillet or a microwave, gently warm the 3 soft taco tortillas for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until they are pliable.
Fill the Tacos
Place about 1/3 cup of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla.
Add Toppings
Top each taco with salsa, shredded lettuce, and cheese if desired. A dollop of sour cream can also be added.
Serve
Fold the tortillas over the filling and serve immediately while warm.
