Tart Crust and Filling

Method

Preparation and Baking

1

Make the Tart Crust

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

2

Prepare the Filling

In another bowl, combine fresh blueberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently to coat the blueberries evenly.

3

Assemble the Tart

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan. Pour the blueberry filling into the crust and spread evenly.

4

Bake the Tart

Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.

5

Serve

Slice the blueberry tart and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
