Beef Kebab Preparation
Marinate the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well. Cut the beef sirloin into 1-inch cubes and add to the marinade. Toss until the beef is well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best flavor.
Prepare Skewers
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning. If using metal skewers, ensure they are clean and ready for use.
Skewer the Beef
Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
Cooking Rice
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the long-grain rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and fluff with a fork.
