Method

Preparation Steps

1

Boil the Purple Corn

In a large pot, combine the purple corn and water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.

2

Add Fruits and Spices

After simmering, add the chopped pineapple, apple, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Stir to combine and let it simmer for an additional 15 minutes.

3

Strain the Mixture

Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the solids.

4

Add Lime Juice

Stir in the lime juice to the strained liquid. Adjust sweetness with additional sugar if desired.

5

Serve

Chill the chicha morada in the refrigerator. Serve over ice and enjoy!
