Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Bombay Bramble gin, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz Monin Blueberry syrup and 0.25 oz simple syrup.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker roughly three-quarters full with ice (about 6 oz by volume). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted.

4

Prepare garnish and fine strain

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass (if used). Double-strain the shaken cocktail through a fine-mesh strainer (or Hawthorne plus fine mesh) into the chilled coupe or martini glass to remove small ice shards and any pulp.

5

Finish and garnish

Optionally drizzle 0.25 oz blueberry syrup in a thin line across the surface or drop a small amount into the center for visual effect. Thread 3 blackberries and 3 raspberries on a cocktail pick or place them gently in the glass. Express an orange or lemon twist over the drink to release oils, run it around the rim, and drop it in or hang it on the glass.

Optional Muddle (alternative preparation)

6

If you prefer a brighter, fruit-forward finish, lightly muddle 2 blackberries and 2 raspberries in the shaker before adding the gin and other liquids. Add the rest of the ingredients, then double-strain to remove seeds and pulp. Note: when muddling, reduce simple syrup to 0.125 oz (a barspoon) if fruit adds extra sweetness.
