Method
Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
Combine Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and the large eggs until well combined.

In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula. Mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Add Optional Ingredients
If desired, fold in chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts into the batter.
Baking
Pour and Spread Batter
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
Cool Brownies
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
