Flan Ingredients

Method

Instructions

1

Prepare the caramel

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of granulated sugar until it becomes a golden brown liquid. Quickly pour the caramel into a round baking dish, tilting the dish to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool.

2

Blend the custard mixture

In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and well combined.

3

Bake the flan

Pour the custard mixture over the cooled caramel in the baking dish. Place the dish in a larger baking pan and fill the larger pan with hot water to create a water bath. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 60 minutes or until set.

4

Cool and serve

Remove the flan from the oven and allow it to cool completely. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert onto a serving plate, and enjoy!
