Pork Preparation
Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring an even coating.
Slow Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and water to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.
Sandwich Assembly
Prepare the Buns
While the pork is shredding, lightly toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
Assemble the Sandwiches
Spoon a generous amount of the pulled pork onto each toasted bun. Top with coleslaw and drizzle with BBQ sauce. Place the top half of the bun over the fillings.
Serve
Serve the sandwiches warm with additional BBQ sauce on the side, if desired.
