Method

Making the Espresso

1

Grind the Coffee Beans

Using a burr grinder, grind 18 grams of espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency, resembling table salt.

2

Prepare the Espresso Machine

Turn on your espresso machine and allow it to heat up for at least 10-15 minutes. Ensure the portafilter is clean and dry.

3

Tamp the Coffee Grounds

Place the ground coffee into the portafilter and evenly distribute it. Using a tamper, apply firm and even pressure to compact the coffee grounds.

4

Brew the Espresso

Lock the portafilter into the machine and start the brewing process. Aim for a brew time of 25-30 seconds to extract about 60 ml of espresso.

5

Serve the Espresso

Pour the freshly brewed double espresso into a pre-warmed cup, ensuring a rich layer of crema forms on top.

Adding Optional Garnishes

6

Sweeten the Espresso (Optional)

If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon of sugar into the hot espresso until dissolved.

7

Garnish with Cocoa Powder (Optional)

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder on top of the espresso for added flavor.

8

Add Milk or Cream (Optional)

If you prefer a creamier drink, pour 30 ml of milk or cream into the espresso and stir gently.
