Meatball Preparation

1

Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef tenderloin, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly using your hands until well combined.

2

Shape the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

4

Sauté the Aromatics

In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

5

Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings

Pour in the canned diced tomatoes, and add the dried basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

6

Simmer with Meatballs

Return the cooked meatballs to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
