Chill and measure
Ensure the Coca‑Cola is well chilled. Measure 4 cups (approx. one 1‑liter bottle or two 12‑oz cans) per 2–3 servings (adjust proportionally for more). Keep bottle open only when ready to pour to preserve carbonation.
Pour the measured Coca‑Cola into the prepared glass(es) over ice if using. Pour gently down the side to minimize foaming and preserve carbonation.
Add-ins & Mixers (optional variations)
Whiskey & Coke
Add 2 oz whiskey to the glass of Coke over ice. Stir gently 6–8 times to combine. Garnish with a maraschino cherry or lemon wedge if desired.
Cherry Cola
Stir 1 tbsp grenadine into the Coke in the glass. Add 2–3 maraschino cherries and a cherry syrup drizzle if desired. Serve over ice.
Vanilla Cola
Stir 1 tsp vanilla syrup into the Coke until incorporated. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a cola float variation; serve immediately with a straw and long spoon.
Citrus Twist
Add a squeeze of lemon and lime (half wedge each) to the Coke. Drop the wedges in and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint. Lightly bruise the mint between your palms before adding to release aroma.
Garnish & Serving
Add ice to glasses (about 1 cup per glass) if serving chilled over ice. For a cola float, skip ice and add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream to the glass, then pour Coke slowly over the ice cream.
Garnish according to chosen variation: lime or lemon wedge on the rim, maraschino cherries on a pick, or a mint sprig. Insert a straw or stirrer and serve immediately to preserve fizz.
If serving multiple variations, label or communicate contents (e.g., 'Whiskey & Coke') for guests. Keep unopened bottles chilled for refills.
