APPETIZER SPECIAL

Method

APPETIZER SPECIAL

1

Prepare the Mozzarella

Cut the fresh mozzarella into thick slices (about 1-inch thick). Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2

Set up the Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place all-purpose flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second bowl, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper in the third bowl.

3

Bread the Mozzarella

Coat each mozzarella slice first in flour, ensuring it is fully covered. Then dip it in the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, dredge the slice in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers. You can test if the oil is ready by dropping in a small piece of bread; it should sizzle immediately.

5

Fry the Mozzarella

Carefully place the breaded mozzarella slices in the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan, fry in batches if necessary.

6

Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the mozzarella from the skillet and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot alongside marinara sauce for dipping.
