Prepare Watermelon Purée
Make the Watermelon Purée
In a blender, blend the diced watermelon until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp. Set aside.
Make Simple Syrup
Prepare Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
Mix Margarita
Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the sliced jalapeños to release their flavor. Add the watermelon purée, fresh squeezed lime juice, fresh squeezed orange juice, tequila, and cooled simple syrup to the shaker.
Shake the Mixture
Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well mixed and chilled.
Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. Ensure to use a fine mesh strainer to catch any jalapeño seeds.
Garnish
Prepare the Glass
Rim the glass with coarse salt by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into the salt. Garnish the drink with a lime wedge.
