Method
Classic Margarita (single serving)
Prep rim
Run the lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks or coupe glass, then dip the rim into coarse salt; set the glass aside.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz orange liqueur and 0.25 oz simple syrup (optional for sweetness).
Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled (shaker should frost slightly).
Whiskey Sour (single serving)
If using egg white, perform a dry shake first: add egg white, 2 oz whiskey, 0.75 oz lemon juice, 0.75 oz simple syrup to a shaker without ice and shake hard for 10 seconds to emulsify.
Add ice to the shaker (about 1 cup) and shake again vigorously for 12–15 seconds until chilled and frothy.
Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice (or serve neat into a coupe). Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters on top of the foam and garnish with a lemon wheel or cocktail cherry.
Moscow Mule (single serving)
Fill a mule mug or highball glass with ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz vodka and 0.5 oz fresh lime juice.
Top with 4 oz chilled ginger beer and gently stir once to combine (don’t flatten the ginger beer).
Garnish with a lime wedge and optional mint sprig.
Old Fashioned (single serving)
In a mixing glass, add 0.25 oz simple syrup (or a sugar cube) and 2 dashes Angostura bitters. If using a sugar cube, muddle it with bitters and a splash of water until dissolved.
Add 2 oz whiskey and fill the mixing glass with ice. Stir for 20–30 seconds until properly chilled and slightly diluted.
Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube. Express the orange peel over the drink to release oils, rub the rim with the peel and drop it in as garnish.
Paloma (single serving)
If salting the rim, run a lime wedge around the rim and dip into a small amount of salt; discard excess.
Fill a highball glass with ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz blanco tequila and 0.5 oz fresh lime juice.
Top with 4 oz grapefruit soda (or 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice + 2 oz club soda). Stir gently to combine.
Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.
