Method
Shrimp
Prepare the Shrimp
In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Coat the Shrimp
Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
Heat the Oil
In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully place the batter-coated shrimp into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Fries
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel (if desired) the potatoes, then cut them into fry shapes.
Heat the Oil for Fries
In a separate pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Fry the Potatoes
Once the oil is hot, add the fries in batches, frying for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
Coleslaw
Prepare the Vegetables
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrot.
Make the Dressing
In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
