Preparation of Pork
Season the Pork
In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
Slow Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add lime juice, chicken broth, and bay leaves. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.
Assembling Tacos
Warm the Tortillas
In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
Serve
Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
