Method

Preparation

1

Step 1: Brew Coffee

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 1 cup of medium roast coffee beans. Let steep for 30 minutes.

2

Step 2: Strain Coffee

After 30 minutes, strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into another container to remove the coffee grounds.

3

Step 3: Combine Ingredients

In the container with the strained coffee, add 1 cup of granulated sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Then, add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and stir to combine.

4

Step 4: Add Vodka

Once the sugar is dissolved, add 2 cups of vodka to the mixture and stir well until fully blended.

5

Step 5: Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of caramel syrup for added flavor.

Storage

6

Step 6: Bottle the Kahlua

Pour the prepared Kahlua into clean glass bottles, seal tightly, and store in a cool, dark place.

7

Step 7: Let it Mature

For the best flavor, let the Kahlua sit for at least 2 weeks before using. This allows the flavors to meld together.
