Method
Panna Cotta Base
Prepare Gelatin
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it blooms.
Heat Cream Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is warm but not boiling.
Add Gelatin and Vanilla
Once the cream mixture is warm, remove it from heat. Add the bloomed gelatin and vanilla extract, stirring until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
Cool and Pour
Allow the mixture to cool slightly before pouring it into individual serving cups. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
Berry Sauce
Thicken the Sauce
Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool.
Serve with Panna Cotta
Once the panna cotta is set, top each serving with a generous spoonful of the berry sauce before serving.
