Method

Taco Filling

1

Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they become tender and the onion is translucent.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.

3

Add Hot Sauce and Seasoning

Pour in the hot sauce and sprinkle crushed chili flakes over the shrimp mixture. Stir well to combine and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.

4

Finish with Cilantro

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro. Set aside.

Rice and Beans

5

Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.

6

Prepare the Beans

In a separate saucepan, combine the canned black beans, cumin, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat until warmed through.

Taco Assembly

7

Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

8

Assemble the Tacos

Place a generous scoop of the shrimp mixture onto each tortilla. Top with additional cilantro if desired.

9

Serve

Serve the tacos with a side of rice and beans.
