Chocolate Fondant Ingredients

Method

Chocolate Fondant Directions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and prepare your ramekins by buttering them and dusting with cocoa powder.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.

3

Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

4

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the egg and sugar mixture, stirring gently to combine.

5

Add Dry Ingredients

Sift the all-purpose flour, salt, and vanilla extract into the mixture, folding gently until just combined.

6

Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.

8

Cool and Serve

Allow the fondants to cool for 1-2 minutes before inverting them onto plates. Serve immediately, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
