Method
Prepare the Bread
Slice the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices diagonally. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.
Toast the Bread
Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Topping
Dice the Tomatoes
While the bread is toasting, wash the tomatoes and dice them into small pieces. Place them in a medium mixing bowl.
Chop the Basil
Rinse the basil leaves, pat them dry, and chop them finely. Add the chopped basil to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.
Add Garlic and Seasoning
Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Add the minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the tomato and basil mixture. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients.
Assemble the Bruschetta
Top the Toasted Bread
Using a spoon, generously top each toasted slice of bread with the tomato and basil mixture.
Serve
Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
