Garnish & Rim

1

Prepare glass rim

Place the cocoa powder (or grated chocolate) on a small plate. Warm the semisweet chocolate briefly in the microwave (5–10 seconds) or use chocolate syrup. Dip the rim of a chilled martini glass into the melted chocolate, then lightly into the cocoa powder to coat the rim. Set the glass aside to allow the chocolate to set (about 2–3 minutes) while you make the cocktail.

2

Garnish

Skewer two fresh raspberries on a cocktail pick or set them on the glass lip for garnish. Chill until serving.

3

Muddle raspberries

Place the 4 fresh raspberries and the simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle with a muddler or the back of a spoon until the berries are broken down and juicy (about 10–15 seconds).

4

Add spirits and citrus

Add the vodka (2 oz), chocolate liqueur (1 oz), raspberry liqueur (0.5 oz), and fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz) to the shaker with the muddled raspberries.

5

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker feels very cold and the exterior is frosted. This chills, dilutes slightly, and integrates the flavors.

6

Double strain

Strain the cocktail through a fine-mesh strainer (or use the shaker’s strainer and pour through a small sieve) into the prepared chilled martini glass to remove raspberry seeds and pulp, yielding a silky, pink-chocolate martini.

7

Finish and serve

Garnish with the skewered raspberries on the rim. Optionally drizzle a small amount of chocolate syrup in a swirl inside the glass before pouring for a decorative look. Serve immediately.
