Preparing the Burger Patty
Mixing Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
Forming Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about ¾ inch thick.
Preparing the Toppings

Wash the lettuce leaves and set aside. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.

Spoon the mayonnaise into a small bowl and set aside for easy assembly.

Optional: Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
Building the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked burger patty on top, followed by lettuce and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
