Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Rice

In a medium-sized pot, add 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and then add the white rice. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 18 minutes until the rice is tender.

2

Cook the Steak

Season the beef steak with salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.

3

Fry the Eggs

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Crack the eggs into the skillet and fry to your preferred doneness (sunny side up or over easy). Remove and set aside.

4

Prepare the Fries

Cook the frozen fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden. Set aside.

5

Fry the Plantains

Peel and slice the sweet plantains diagonally. In another skillet, heat the remaining olive oil. Fry the plantain slices until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

6

Assemble the Salad

In a small bowl, mix together the chopped lettuce and sliced tomato. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7

Serve

On each plate, serve a portion of rice, the cooked steak, fried eggs, crispy fries, fried plantains, and a side salad. Enjoy your Bistec a lo Pobre!
