Dough Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Dough

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

3

Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.

4

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5

Let the Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shaping and Baking

6

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

7

Shape the Bread

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller rolls.

8

Optional Toppings

If using, brush the tops of the shaped bread with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds, garlic powder, or dried herbs.

9

Bake the Bread

Place the shaped bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

10

Cool

Remove from the oven and let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
