Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

1

Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Burgers

3

Preheat Cooking Surface

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties.

4

Cook Burgers

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until browned. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

5

Prepare Tomato

While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato into thick rounds.

6

Toast Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned.

7

Assemble Burgers

Once the burgers are cooked, place each patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste. Place the top half of the bun on each assembled burger.
