Preparation
Prepare the Glasses
Rub the rim of each glass with a lime wedge and dip it into the salt to coat the rim. Set aside.
Juicing Limes
Juice enough fresh limes to yield 1 cup of fresh lime juice. Strain to remove any pulp if desired.
Make Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and sugar. Heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow to cool before using.
Mixing
Combine Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine 2 cups of tequila, 1 cup of triple sec, 1 cup of fresh lime juice, and 1 cup of simple syrup.
Mix with Ice
Add 8 cups of ice to the pitcher and stir well until the mixture is chilled.
Serving
Serve the Margaritas
Pour the margarita mixture into the prepared glasses over any remaining ice. Garnish with lime wedges.
