Chips Base

Method

Preparation

1

Wash and Slice Potatoes

Thoroughly wash the potatoes under cold water. Using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer, slice the potatoes into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.

2

Soak the Potato Slices

Place the sliced potatoes in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier chips.

Cooking

3

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

4

Dry the Potato Slices

After soaking, drain the potato slices and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

5

Season the Chips

In a large bowl, toss the dried potato slices with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.

6

Arrange on Baking Sheet

Spread the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.

7

Bake the Chips

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, turning the chips halfway through, until they are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

8

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the chips from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a serving bowl. Enjoy your homemade chips!
