Turkey and Herb Mixture

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Brown the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the butter turns a nutty brown color and has a fragrant aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.

2

Prepare Turkey

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Pat the turkey dry with paper towels and place it in a roasting pan.

3

Herb Mixture

In a bowl, combine the chopped sage, thyme, rosemary, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour the browned butter over the herb mixture and stir to combine.

4

Stuff and Baste

Using your hands, carefully loosen the skin of the turkey breast and drumsticks. Spread the herb mixture evenly under the skin. Pour any remaining herb butter over the turkey and rub it all over the skin. Pour the whiskey into the bottom of the roasting pan.

5

Roasting

Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for approximately 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with the pan juices every 30 minutes.

6

Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite sides.
