Tortilla Chips

House Salsa

Method

Tortilla Chips

1

Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges.

2

Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

4

Season the Chips

Sprinkle the hot chips with salt while they are still warm.

House Salsa

5

Chop the Ingredients

Dice the ripe tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper (removing seeds for less heat, if desired).

6

Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.

7

Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes for the flavors to meld together before serving.
