Method

Dough Preparation

1

Boil Water Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

2

Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Mix until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

3

Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly for about 5 minutes. Then, add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition until the dough is smooth and well combined.

Cinnamon Sugar Preparation

4

Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Frying Churros

5

Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

6

Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors as needed.

7

Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros in batches, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

8

Drain Oil

Using a slotted spoon, remove the churros from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

9

Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the prepared cinnamon sugar until well coated.
