Method
Prepare the Meat
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Add Seasoning
Once the beef is browned, drain any excess grease. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
Prepare the Tortillas
Heat the Tortillas
If using flour tortillas, warm them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable. If using corn tortillas, heat until they are slightly crispy.
Assemble the Tacos
Fill the Tortillas
Place a warm tortilla on a plate. Spoon a generous amount of the seasoned meat mixture into the center of the tortilla.
Add Toppings
Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños as desired.
Serve
Fold the tortilla over the fillings and serve immediately with additional toppings on the side if desired.
