Method
Fettuccine Alfredo
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Combine Ingredients
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
Mix Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce in the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little pasta water to reach desired consistency.
Finishing Touches
Remove from heat and sprinkle fresh parsley over the top before serving.
Parmesan Crisps
Prepare Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the Crisps
Spoon tablespoon-sized amounts of grated Parmesan cheese onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each mound slightly.
Bake the Crisps
Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
Cool Down
Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
