Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

1

Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed.

2

Forming the Patty

Divide the mixture into one equal portion (8 ounces) and shape it into a round patty that is about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

3

Preheating the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

4

Cooking the Patty

Place the burger patty on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

5

Adding Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty and close the grill lid or cover the skillet. Allow the cheese to melt.

Assembling the Burger

6

Toasting the Bun

If desired, toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

7

Layering Ingredients

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked cheeseburger patty, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

8

Completing the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down lightly to secure. Your Half-Pound Cheeseburger is ready to serve!
