1

Chill glass

Place a rocks glass or coupe in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Measure and pour

Into a cocktail shaker add 2 oz Don Julio tequila, 0.75 oz apricot liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Add about 6 large ice cubes to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold on the outside and well-diluted.

4

Prepare serving glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, dump the water out. Add 4 fresh ice cubes to the rocks glass (for a short serve) or leave empty for a coupe serve.

5

Strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over the serving ice (or into the chilled coupe without ice) using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and any pulp.

6

Garnish

Finish with a lime wheel or twist on the rim and, if desired, float an apricot slice or dehydrated apricot on top for aroma and visual appeal.

7

Serve

Serve immediately. Stir gently once if served on ice to integrate temperature and dilution.
