Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool slightly. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur. Set aside.

2

Make the Mascarpone Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip together using an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

3

Prepare the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Place half of them in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x9 inch dish.

4

Layer the Tiramisu

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.

5

Chill the Dessert

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

6

Serve

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings. Cut into squares and enjoy!
