Method

Fish Preparation

1

Marinate the Fish

In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the fish fillets and coat them well. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Batter and Coating

2

Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Gradually add the cold water until you achieve a smooth batter.

Frying

3

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can check the temperature by dropping a small amount of batter into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

4

Fry the Fish

Dip each marinated fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

5

Drain and Serve

Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the fish from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
