Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Glass

Start by rimming your glass with coarse sea salt. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a plate of coarse sea salt to coat it evenly.

2

Mix the Spicy Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, combine the sliced jalapeño, smoked paprika, chili powder, and sea salt. Muddle these ingredients together gently to release the jalapeño's flavor without making it too spicy.

3

Add Cocktail Base Ingredients

Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave syrup to the shaker with the muddled jalapeño mixture.

4

Shake the Cocktail

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

5

Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice. Optionally, you can fine strain to remove any jalapeño bits.

Garnishing

6

Add Garnishes

Garnish your spicy margarita with a lime wedge and a slice of jalapeño on top. Serve immediately and enjoy!
