Preparation

1

Soak the Dried Cherries

In a small bowl, soak the dried cherries in half of the Xtra Añejo tequila for about 30 minutes to plump them up.

2

Prepare the Butterscotch Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Slowly add the heavy cream while whisking continuously. Let the mixture come to a gentle boil for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Stir in the anise seeds.

Assembly

3

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked dried cherries and the remaining Xtra Añejo tequila. Pour the butterscotch sauce over the mixture and stir well to combine.

4

Serve

Divide the mixture into serving bowls. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts and garnish with fresh cherries. Serve immediately.
