Method

Salsa Preparation

1

Dice the Vegetables

Chop the Roma tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeño pepper into small pieces. Remove seeds from jalapeño if you prefer less heat.

2

Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

3

Add Seasoning

Pour in lime juice, add salt, and sprinkle garlic powder. Stir all ingredients together until well combined.

4

Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice to your preference.

5

Refrigerate

Cover the salsa with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Tortilla Chips Preparation

6

Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

7

Cut Tortillas

Cut the yellow corn tortillas into quarters to create chip shapes.

8

Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla pieces to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.

9

Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

10

Serve

Once the chips have cooled slightly, serve them alongside the house salsa.
