Prepare the Gelato Base
In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has completely dissolved and the mixture is warm but not boiling. Remove from heat.
Add Flavors
Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt into the warm mixture. Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
Churn the Gelato
Once the base is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes. The gelato should be soft and creamy.
Prepare the Sorbetti Base
For the sorbetti, blend the fresh fruit of your choice (e.g., strawberries or mango) with lemon juice until smooth. You can adjust the sweetness by adding sugar if necessary.
Churn the Sorbetti
Pour the fruit mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Serve
Scoop the gelato or sorbetti into bowls. Drizzle with Faith's Tuscan chocolate sauce or salted caramel sauce as desired. Enjoy your delicious dessert!
