Directions
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients listed for the Orange Julia. Make sure to use fresh oranges for juicing to get the best flavor.
Juice the Oranges
Squeeze enough fresh oranges to yield 1 cup of orange juice. Strain the juice to remove pulp and seeds if desired.
Whip the Aquafaba
In a mixing bowl, add 3 tablespoons of aquafaba. Using an electric mixer, whisk the aquafaba on high speed until it forms soft peaks, similar to whipped egg whites. This may take about 5-7 minutes.
Combine Ingredients
In a blender, combine the fresh orange juice, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sugar (if using). Blend on high until well mixed and creamy.
Fold in Aquafaba
Gently fold the whipped aquafaba into the orange cream mixture using a spatula. Be careful not to deflate the aquafaba too much; the goal is to keep it light and airy.
Serve the Orange Julia
Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the Orange Julia mixture over the ice. Serve immediately and enjoy!
