Glass Prep & Garnish
Rim the glass
Pour the coarse sea salt onto a small plate. Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass to moisten, then dip the rim into the salt to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
Place the lime wheel or wedge on the rim or drop into the finished cocktail as garnish.
Mixing the Margarita
Juice and measure
Juice a fresh lime until you have approximately 1 oz of juice. Measure out 2 oz of Corazón reposado tequila, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice (if using pre-measured), 0.5 oz organic agave nectar, and 0.5 oz orange liqueur.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, fresh lime juice, organic agave nectar, and orange liqueur. Add enough ice to fill the shaker about two-thirds full (about 1 cup).
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is chilled and the outside is frosty. This both chills and dilutes the cocktail to the proper balance.
Strain
Double-strain the mixture (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared salt-rimmed glass over fresh ice (if serving on the rocks) or into the chilled glass without ice for a neat pour.
Finish & adjust
Taste briefly. If you prefer a sweeter Margarita, stir in up to an additional 0.25 oz organic agave nectar, then gently stir or give a quick swirl to combine.
Garnish with the lime wheel or wedge and, if using, a light sprinkle of lime zest on top for added aroma.
